Recap

Getting the win over the 8th place team when in 9th place is a big one. The Bears were able to do just that, and the power play/penalty kill was the reason. Starting off in the 1st period, at the 5:35 mark, Hershey's Nicolas Deschamps was charged with slashing. Around 4 minutes later, Hershey's Dane Byers was charged with slashing as well. At the 14:40 mark, Providence's Tyler Randell was charged with holding. 34 seconds into the power play, Hershey got on the board. David Kolomatis scored his 7th of the season, from Casey Wellman & Kris Newbury. Providence had the shot advantage at 9-7 after the 1st.

In the 2nd, the penalties continued. At the 2:45 mark, Hershey's Casey Wellman was charged with slashing. At the 5:22 mark, Providence's Justin Florek was charged with roughing. 4 minutes later, Hershey's Cameron Schilling was charged with holding. Towards the end of that power play, Providence's Jared Knight was charged with boarding. Near the end of that penalty, at the 12:45 mark, Providence's Tommy Cross was charged with tripping. 17 seconds into that power play, Hershey made it 2-0. Ryan Stoa scored his 14th of the season, from Dane Byers & Kris Newbury (2nd assist of the game). 29 seconds before the period ended, Stoa was charged with interference. Providence kept the shot advantage, now at 16-15.

The 3rd period had no penalties and no goals, and that was because of Hershey's David Leggio. Providence had a shot advantage of 12-2 in the period (28-17 total), but Leggio stopped every shot to get the shutout. Hershey plays on the road again tomorrow, this time against the Worcester Sharks. Game time is at 7.
