Bears Free Agent Signings

The Bears signed a couple new players to help out the team this season, both to one-year contracts. The first player is defenseman Joey Leach. Last season, Leach split his time between the AHL's Lake Erie Monsters and the ECHL's Fort Wayne Komets. In 10 games for the Monsters, he did not record any points. In 52 games for the Komets, he had 19 points (2 goals, 17 assists) to his credit. In 17 career AHL games, Leach has recorded one assist. In 111 career ECHL games, he has 27 points (2 goals, 25 assists) to his credit.

The second player is defenseman Bobby Shea. Shea split his time between the AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs and the ECHL's Wheeling Nailers last season. In 24 games for the Bulldogs, he had 5 points (1 goal, 4 assists) to his credit. In 36 games with the Nailers, he had 10 points (2 goals, 8 assists). In 53 career AHL games, Shea has 12 points (4 goals, 8 assists). In 59 career ECHL games, he has 15 points (4 goals, 11 assists) to his credit. Bears Sign Austin Fyten

The Bears announced that they have signed forward Austin Fyten to a one-year deal. Fyten played for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms last season. In 64 games, he had 11 points (2 goals, 9 assists). In 61 career ECHL games, Fyten has 61 points (21 goals, 40 assists). In 122 career AHL games, Fyten has 33 points (9 goals, 24 assists) to his credit. Bears Update

Signing

The Bears announced recently that they have signed forward Maxime Sauve to a one-year deal. Sauve was overseas last season. In 27 games for the Cologne Sharks of the German Ice Hockey League, he had 9 points (3 goals, 6 assists). Sauve has played in 213 career AHL games, and has 106 points (51 goals, 55 assists) to his credit. He has played in one career NHL game with the Boston Bruins. Preseason Schedule

The Bears have a shorter preseason than normal this year, as they will only play two games. They will both be at home, however. The first game will be on Thursday, October 1st against the Albany Devils. The second game will be on Saturday, October 3rd against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Both games will start at 7:00.
