Recap

We knew the Sharks would put up a fight in this game to try to climb back, and they did just that. Even with another strong performance from Pheonix Copley, the Sharks were able to force a Game 4. With how the game started, however, it was looking like the Bears could have been on their way to a victory. The goals started off early, with the Bears getting on the board first at the 3:13 mark. Liam O'Brien scored his 1st of the playoffs, from Garrett Mitchell & Chandler Stephenson. Penalties would come in the period, but the penalty kills and goalies stopped those. After the 1st, the Sharks had the 9-8 shot advantage.

In the 2nd, the referees would get a little whistle happy, as this felt like a longer period than most. With a penalty coming against Hershey less than a minute in, Worcester would get on the board 8 seconds into that power play. Chris Tierney scored his 1st of the playoffs, from Daniil Tarasov & Dylan DeMelo. At the 3:55 mark, only around 3 minutes after the tying goal, the Sharks would take the lead. Ryan Carpenter scored his 1st of the playoffs, from Eriah Hayes & Micheal Haley. A few power play chances would come for the Bears, but they couldn't get anything out of them. After the 2nd, the Sharks had the 28-16 shot advantage.

In the 3rd, the game would go from bad to worse for the Bears. Worcester would score on a 5-on-3 power play to increase the lead to 2. Taylor Fedun scored his 1st of the season, from Chris Tierney (2nd point of night) & Karl Stollery. The Bears would get a few chances the rest of the period to come back, but nothing that the Sharks couldn't stop. Worcester would finish the game off with an empty-net goal with 7 seconds left. Micheal Haley scored his 2nd of the playoffs (2nd point of night). The Sharks finished with the 33-28 shot advantage.

Recap

Another great performance by Pheonix Copley gives the Bears the 2-0 lead in the series! The Bears will go back home with only needing one more win to advance. In the 1st period, the Sharks continued their dominate early play, but Copley stayed strong and kept all shots out. Aaron Dell did the same for the Sharks, so it was scoreless. After the 1st, the Sharks had the 13-9 shot advantage. In the 2nd, the scoring started off quick. 1:03 into the period, the Bears got on the board first. Jim O'Brien scored his 1st of the playoffs, from Jakub Vrana. Only 1:43 later, the Sharks would tie the game up. Eriah Hayes scored his 1st of the playoffs, from Ryan Carpenter.

48 seconds later, the Bears would take the lead right back to make it 2-1. Chris Conner scored his 1st of the playoffs, from Tim Kennedy. At the 13:58 mark, the Bears would take a 3-1 lead. Cameron Schilling scored his 1st of the playoffs, from Liam O'Brien. After the 2nd, the Sharks had the 23-22 shot advantage. In the 3rd, the Sharks would have a slight edge in play, helped by two penalties against the Bears. The great penalty kill and Copley would make sure that the lead stayed at two for the rest of the game. Copley finished with a 33 save performance for his 2nd playoff win (Bears finished with 29 shots).

Recap

The way this game was going, it looked like it was going to overtime with the performance of Pheonix Copley and the play becoming more even than the beginning of the game. The Sharks, specifically Jeremy Langlois, might come to regret that penalty that led the Bears to the Game 1 victory. In the 1st, if it wasn't for Copley, the Bears would have been trailing by much more. The shots became too much by the end of the period, and the Sharks scored on the power play with 14 seconds left in the period. Michael Haley got his 1st of the playoffs, from Barclay Goodrow & Dylan DeMelo. After the 1st, the Sharks had the 14-5 shot advantage.

In the 2nd, the Bears' play got stronger, but Worcester continued to have the most pressure. Copley would stand strong in net, and keep the Bears to within a goal. The Bears would finally get on the board with 1:29 left in the period. Connor Carrick scored his 1st of the playoffs, from Chandler Stephenson & Liam O'Brien. After the 2nd, the Sharks would have the 31-15 shot advantage. In the 3rd, the play was much more even. Each team had a good number of chances, and it looked like it would head to overtime. In an ironic twist, the least penalized team in the regular season would get a penalty that would come to haunt them.

Worcester's Jeremy Langlois was charged with a major and a game misconduct for checking from behind. 22 seconds into that power play, the Bears would take the lead. Nate Schmidt scored his 1st of the playoffs, from Casey Wellman & Jakub Vrana. At the 19:03 mark, the Bears would score once again on that power play to make it 3-1. Stanislav Galiev got his 1st of the playoffs, from Cameron Schilling & Chris Conner. With 30 seconds left, the Bears would get their 3rd power play goal (an empty-netter) to finish the scoring at 4-1. Chris Brown scored his 1st of the playoffs, from Dustin Gazley & Kris Newbury. Pheonix Copley finished with a great 41-save performance (Hershey finished with 24 shots).

Recap

What a way to end the regular season! Great performances by the Caps' recent draft picks led the Bears to a dominating win. The Bears started it off early, with their first goal coming at the 2:07 mark of the 1st. Jon Landry scored his 3rd of the season, from Jakub Vrana. With only 48 seconds left in the period, the Bears would make it 2-0. Tomas Kundratek scored his 5th of the season, from Kris Newbury & Garrett Mitchell. After the 1st, the Bears had the 8-7 shot advantage.

In the 2nd, the penalties would pick up, and would include one for the Phantoms coach. 27 seconds into the period, the Phantoms would get within one. Brett Hextall scored his 6th of the season, from Kevin Goumas. At the 7:13 mark of the period, the Bears would make it 3-1. Chandler Stephenson scored his 7th of the season, from Joel Broda & Liam O'Brien. 15 seconds after that goal, a fight would break out between Hershey's Liam O'Brien & Lehigh Valley's Derek Mathers. After the 2nd, the Bears had the 28-15 shot advantage.

Philippe Cornet scored his 9th of the season, from Jakub Vrana (2nd assist of night) & Travis Boyd (1st AHL assist/point). The Bears would score again on the power play, this time at the 11:19 mark. Travis Boyd scored his 1st AHL goal (2nd point of night), from Christian Djoos (1st AHL assist/point) & Jakub Vrana (3rd assist of night). With this goal, a game misconduct would come for the Phantoms coach, so he would be ejected from the game. The Bears finished with the 44-22 shot advantage.

Notes: The Bears finish with a record of 46-22-5-3 for an 100 point season. It is not known yet who they will play against in the 1st round of the playoffs. Recap

Considering the shot differential, this should have been a closer game than it ended up being. It was that close game in the first two periods, but it changed in the 3rd. The referees would only give out 4 penalties the entire game, so it felt quicker than normal. The Bears would start off on the right foot with a goal in the 1st at the 4:14 mark. Jim O'Brien scored his 10th of the season, from Jakub Vrana (1st professional point) & Dustin Gazley. After the 1st, the Bears had the 14-10 shot advantage. In the 2nd, the Phantoms would tie it up quick (51 seconds in). Scott Laughton scored his 13th of the season, from Mark Alt & Jason Akeson. After the 2nd, the Bears had the 27-17 shot advantage.

In the 3rd, even though the Phantoms only had one more shot than the Bears in the period, they would run away with it. A strong performance from Rob Zepp helped that. 6:41 into the period, the Phantoms would take the lead. Petr Straka scored his 14th of the season, from Kevin Goumas. At the 12:44 mark, the lead would be stretched to two. Jason Akeson scored his 23rd of the season, from Taylor Leier & Scott Laughton (2nd point of the night). The Phantoms would finish the night with an empty-net goal with 55 seconds left. Danick Martel scored his 1st of the season, from Oliver Lauridsen. The Bears finished with the 38-29 shot advantage.

Recap

A good rebound win from last night. Pheonix Copley (who was called Philipp Grubauer in the three stars) had a great performance to lead the team. Neither team would have much going in the 1st, and there would be no scoring until the 2nd period. In that period, the Bears would get on the board early (2:41 mark) on a power play goal from the power play master. Stanislav Galiev scored his 25th of the season, from Tim Kennedy & Chris Conner. In the 3rd period, the Bears penalty kill would rise to the challenge again and keep the lead. The Bears would finish off the game with an empty-net goal with 1:06 remaining. Casey Wellman scored his 24th of the season, from Cameron Schilling. Pheonix Copley finished with the 25-save shutout (Bears had 29 shots).

Next Game: Friday at St. John's, 6:00

Note: This is the last time the Bears will be playing in Norfolk. Norfolk's team is moving to become the San Diego Gulls as part of the brand-new West Division in the AHL. The "Norfolk Admirals" name will continue as a new ECHL team.

Recap

A tough one to lose. Both teams played well (Hershey at the beginning, Worcester towards the end), so it's good to get a point out of it. The 1st period was fast-paced, and didn't feel that long at all. The Bears would get the only goal of the period. Casey Wellman scored his 23rd of the season, from Connor Carrick & Jim O'Brien. After the 1st, the Bears had the 20-10 shot advantage. In the 2nd, a little more would happen, including a goal for each. At the 4:28 mark, the Bears would make it 2-0. Liam O'Brien scored his 3rd of the season, from Connor Carrick (2nd assist of night) & Chandler Stephenson.

Only 1:22 after that, Worcester would get on the board to make it 2-1. Travis Oleksuk scored his 9th of the season, from Micheal Haley & Karl Stollery. After the 2nd, the Bears had the 26-20 shot advantage. In the 3rd, the Sharks wouldn't take long to tie the game at 2 (2:23 into the period). Matt Willows scored his 3rd of the season, from Matt Taomina. The Bears penalty kill would be clutch with two important penalty kill situations. In the overtime period, the play was fast-paced and each team had great chances, but the goalies stood strong. In the shootout, Daniel Ciampini would score in the 1st round for the Sharks, but Hershey's Andre Burakovsky would score in the 2nd. The tie would last until the 7th round, where Worcester's John McCarthy would get the puck past Philipp Grubauer to win the game. The Bears finished with the 38-32 shot advantage.
