Recap

6 in a row. This game was a really odd one. Starting it off, at the 8:27 mark, Hershey's Patrick Wey was charged with tripping. About two and a half minutes later, Charlotte's Jared Staal was charged with tripping. At the 16:24 mark, Charlotte's Chris Terry was charged with roughing. Within a minute of each other, the Bears got two penalties. Ryan Potulny was charged with hooking, and Dane Byers was charged with boarding. On the 5-on-3 power play, and with 2.9 seconds left, Charlotte got on the board. Chris Terry scored his 18th of the season, from Aaron Palushaj & Ryan Murphy. Hershey had the 12-7 shot advantage after the 1st.

The 2nd period was a strange one. At the 5:35 mark, Hershey's Michael Latta was charged with slashing. 2 seconds before the power play would end, Charlotte made it 2-0. Mark Flood scored his 13th of the season, from Michal Jordan & Victor Rask. This is where it got weird. A negated icing call led to Charlotte taking a 3-0 lead. Ryan Murphy scored his 1st of the season, from Brett Sutter & Greg Nemisz. Hershey's coach, Mike Haviland, wanted an explanation for the negated icing call. The ref, David Banfield (who will now be the most hated referee in Hershey), decided that Haviland was being unsportsmanlike, and threw him out of the game. Haviland got a game misconduct, and the Bears got a bench minor for unsportsmanlike conduct. 6 minutes later, skating with anger, the Bears got on the board. Jeff Taffe scored his 17th of the season, from Patrick Wey & Julien Brouillette. To end the period, at the 18:06 mark, Charlotte's Matt Marquardt was charged with interference. Going into the 3rd period, the Bears had a 27-17 shot advantage.

At the 7:08 mark of the 3rd period, the Bears got it to within one. Matt Watkins scored his 9th of the year, from Tyson Strachan & Jack Hillen. 39 seconds later, Charlotte brought it back to a 2 goal lead. Zach Boychuk scored his 25th of the year, from Aaron Palushaj (2nd assist of the game) & Sean Dolan. 4 minutes later, Charlotte's Aaron Palushaj was charged with hooking. 2 and a half minutes later, Hershey's Brandon Segal was charged with tripping. On that power play, Charlotte made it 5-2. Zach Boychuk scored his 26th of the year (2nd goal of the game), from Chris Terry & Aaron Palushaj (3rd assist of the game). At the 16:45 mark, Hershey got it to 5-3. Ryan Stoa scored his 12th of the season, from Stanislav Galiev & Jack Hillen (2nd assist of the game). With 2 seconds left, Charlotte got an empty netter. Zach Boychuk scored his 27th of the season (hat trick), from Sean Dolan. Hershey finished with the 40-26 shot advantage. Hershey will look to break its losing streak on Friday, as they play against the Norfolk Admirals. Game time is at 7:30.
