At the 9:29 mark, Hershey's David Kolomatis was charged with tripping. At the 12:29 mark, Syracuse's Luke Witkowski was charged with hooking. For their 3rd penalty of the period, at the 13:18 mark, Syracuse was charged with a bench minor for too many men on the ice. Hershey couldn't take advantage of any of these penalties, and it cost them.
