Recap

This team seems to go from having good games to bad games very quickly. Starting off early (in the first two minutes), Rochester's Luke Adam was charged with cross-checking. A few minutes later, Hershey was hit with two penalties, which gave Rochester a two-man advantage for a short period of time. Brandon Segal was charged with tripping, and Chay Genoway was charged with hooking. Rochester couldn't take advantage, but at the 11:00 mark, they broke the scoreless tie. Luke Adam scored his 20th of the season, from Brayden Irwin & Brayden McNabb. 52 seconds later, Rochester's Johan Larsson was charged with hooking. A minute later, Hershey took advantage of the power play. Jeff Taffe scored his 13th of the season, from Brandon Segal & Ryan Stoa, to tie the game at 1. However, only 33 seconds later, Rochester's Jamie Tardif scored his 13th of the season, from Nick Crawford & Dan Catenacci, to take the 2-1 lead. As the final penalty of the period, Rochester's Mark Pysyk was charged with closing his hand on the puck. After the 1st, the Americans had an 11-6 shot advantage.

The 2nd period started off quickly. Only 29 seconds in, Rochester's Dan Catenacci scored his 6th of the season, from Mark Pysyk & Brayden McNabb, to stretch the lead to 3-1. Hershey would then have 3 penalties in a row in a 7 minute span. Nathan Walker was charged with holding, Cameron Schilling was charged with high-sticking, then it was again Walker, this time for cross-checking. Hershey's penalty kill stayed strong during the entire game, shutting down the power play of the Americans. At the same time of Walker's 2nd penalty, Rochester's Mark Pysyk was charged with roughing. 15 seconds later, Rochester's Brayden McNabb was charged with holding, giving the Bears a 4-on-3 power play. Hershey did not take advantage, and then at the 14:34 mark, they were charged with a bench minor for too many men on the ice. Rochester continued their shot advantage, now at 21-13.

In the 3rd period, there wasn't much happening. At the 4:12 mark, Rochester's Brayden Irwin was charged with goaltender interference. At the 13:04 mark, Rochester increased their lead to 4-1. Brayden Irwin scored his 2nd of the season, from Luke Adam & Johan Larsson. At the 17:14 mark, Hershey's Michael Latta finished out the penalties, being charged with cross-checking. Hershey had the shot advantage in that period, but Rochester finished with the 33-26 shot advantage in the game. Hershey comes back to the Giant Center tomorrow to see if they can stretch their home winning streak to 10 games. It's against the Portland Pirates, and game time is at 7.
