Recap

A heartbreaking way to start the series. With how that first period went, it was looking good. Hartford slowly took control, and Philipp Grubauer wouldn't be able to stop everything (even though he stopped quite a bit). In the 1st, like I said, the Bears were in control. The score could have been 4-0 if it wasn't for Yann Danis. With 54 seconds left in the period, the Bears would finally get one past him. Chris Conner scored his 2nd of the playoffs, from Erik Burgdoerfer. After the 1st, the Bears had the 16-9 shot advantage.

In the 2nd, a little bit after a 5-on-3 ended, the Wolf Pack would score on the power play to tie it at one. Chris Mueller scored his 3rd of the season, from Marek Hrivik & Justin Vaive. After that period, the Bears would have the 27-21 shot advantage. Starting in the 3rd, the referees would not use their whistles much except for one time during the 3rd. Going into the overtime period, the Wolf Pack were gaining control, and they had that full control in the period. Philipp Grubauer would make some amazing saves, but the Wolf Pack would get one past him with 3:13 left in overtime to take the 1-0 series lead. Chris Bourque (former Bear) scored his 2nd of the playoffs, from Oscar Lindberg & Joey Crabb (former Bear). The Wolf Pack finished with the 42-37 shot advantage.
