For how the shot differential was in the game, it was a surprise that the game was close. Hartford's goalie struggled in the beginning, but got better as the game went on. In the 1st, at the 2:34 mark, Hershey continued their trend of scoring first. Connor Carrick got his 2nd of the season, from Chandler Stephenson & Steve Oleksy. 59 seconds later, Hartford tied it up on the power play.
