With how strong the power play and penalty kill units started, this was a tough loss to take. The Bears gave up six goals for the first time this season, and it was with five unanswered. The 1st period would feature no scoring, and the Monarchs would have complete control in the period. A fight would occur between Hershey's Liam O'Brien & Manchester's Josh Gratton. After the 1st, the Monarchs had a staggering 22-5 shot advantage.
In the 2nd, the goals would come in bunches. On the power play (at the 5:09 mark), the Bears would get on the board first. Jim O'Brien scored his 5th of the season, from Dmitry Orlov & Casey Wellman. The Monarchs would follow with a tying goal at the 8:26 mark. Sean Backman scored his 17th of the season, from Michael Mersch & Vincent LoVerde. About 3 and a half minutes later, the Bears would take the lead again on the power play. Jim O'Brien scored his 2nd of the night (6th of season), from Dmitry Orlov & Casey Wellman (both 2nd assists of night).
On the following Manchester power play, the Bears would get a shorthanded goal. Chandler Stephenson scored his 6th of the season, from Mike Moore & Dustin Gazley. The Monarchs would finish the night with another goal to make it 6-3 at the 15:58 mark.
