It's been quite a while since the Bears got beat like this. The Pirates are a much different team than when the Bears played them last, and it showed. However, starting off the game, the Bears looked to be their usual strong selves. The power play master got the first goal on the board for the Bears at the 3:02 mark. Stanislav Galiev scored his 23rd of the season, from Andre Burakovsky & Chris Conner. However, a little over 10 minutes later, the Pirates would tie it up. Dylan Reese scored his 8th of the season, from Greg Miller & Tyler Gaudet. At the 15:21 mark, on the power play, the Pirates took the lead. Joel Hanley scored his 2nd of the season, from Jordan Martinook & Henrik Samuelsson. After the 1st, the Bears had the 9-8 shot advantage.


The 2nd would be controlled by the Pirates in all parts of the game, but Philipp Grubauer would stand strong to keep it a one goal game. After the 2nd, the Pirates had the 23-18 shot advantage.
