Another crazy game. Even though they didn't win this one, the Bears get 5 out of 6 points on the weekend from East Division rivals. This game would go back and forth from the beginning. The 1st period was filled with penalties, but the first goal would come at even strength for Lehigh Valley at the 12:01 mark. Jay Rosehill scored his 4th of the season, from Brett Hextall & Austin Fyten. 52 seconds later, a fight would occur between Hershey's Erik Burgdoerfer & Lehigh Valley's Brett Hextall. With 51 seconds left, on a penalty kill, the Bears tied it with a shorthanded goal. Dane Byers scored his 7th of the season, from Jim O'Brien & Michal Cajkovsky. 20 seconds later, the Phantoms took back the lead. Jay Rosehill scored his 2nd of the night (5th of the season), from Robert Hagg & Steven Delisle. After the 1st, the shots were tied as 12.
The Bears tied it back up quick in the 2nd, as they got the goal 23 seconds in. Stanislav Galiev scored his 16th of the season, from Chris Conner & Tim Kennedy. Neither team would take advantage of the penalties, but at the 11:08 mark, the Phantoms would get an even-strength goal to make it 3-2. Nick Cousins scored his 15th of the season, from Brandon Alderson & Petr Straka. With 2:15 left in the period, the Bears would tie it up again. Tomas Kundratek scored his 2nd of the season, from Jim O'Brien (2nd assist of the night) & Jon Landry. After the 2nd, the Phantoms had the 30-25 shot advantage.
In the 3rd, the play would slow down a bit. However, the first goal would come 1:01 into the period, and it would give Lehigh Valley the 4-3 lead (on the power play). Jason Akeson scored his 12th of the season, from Andrew Gordon & Brandon Manning. At the 10:27 mark, after a few good chances, the Bears would tie it up at 4. Chris Brown scored his 12th of the season, from Jon Landry (2nd assist of the night) & Dane Byers (2nd point of the night). The scoring would stop until overtime, in which Lehigh Valley would get the goal to win it. Kevin Goumas scored his 4th of the season, from Nick Cousins (2nd point of the night) & Robert Hagg (2nd assist of the night). The Bears finished with the 40-39 shot advantage.
