Recap

6 in a row! With how this team started, it's amazing to see how they've done in the new year. Hershey started off the contest with a distinct advantage in play, and it paid off with Jeff Taffe's 11th goal of the season, from Dustin Gazley & Michael Latta. However, Adirondack took control after that point, and it paid off for them with Rob Bordson's 9th goal of the season, from Chris VandeVelde & Bruno Gervais, to tie it at one a piece. The period ended with David Kolomatis getting the 1st penalty of the game, a hooking call with 1:58 left. After Hershey's outburst in the 1st half of the period, Adirondack was able to storm back to have a 10-9 lead in shots at the end of the 1st.

The 2nd period was dominated by the Bears in everything but shots. Adirondack's Kyle Flanagan got penalized for high-sticking, which lead to Hershey's improving power play unit to take advantage. Julien Brouillette's 7th goal of the season, from Nicolas Deschamps & Michael Latta (2nd assist of the game), gave the Bears a 2-1 lead with 14:22 left in the 2nd. Only 57 seconds later, Dane Byers scored his 5th goal of the season, from Matt Watkins and Nathan Walker. A minute or so later, Adirondack's Ben Holmstrom got caught for slashing. With almost 4 minutes left, Peter LeBlanc scored his 9th goal of the season, from Matt Watkins (2nd assist of the game) & David Kolomatis. With only a couple minutes remaining, Julien Brouillette got a penalty for delay of game. Adirondack had one more shot than the Bears in the period to give them a 19-17 advantage going into the final period.

In the 3rd period, Adirondack tried to make a comeback. A third of the way through the period, Mark Alt scored his 2nd goal of the season, from Oliver Lauridsen, to make it 4-2 in favor of the Bears.  With around 6 minutes left, Hershey got two penalties within 52 seconds: Michael Latta for holding the stick, and Cameron Schilling for tripping. 30 seconds after Schilling's penalty, and during a 5-on-3 power play, Adirondack's Bruno Gervais scored his 7th goal of the season, from Kris Newbury & Jason Akeson. As Adirondack tried to tie the game up, Rob Bordson got penalized for holding. 14 seconds later, Julien Brouillette got a power play goal on the empty net (his 2nd goal of the game) to give the Bears a 5-3 victory! At the end of the game, Adirondack's Tye McGinn got a misconduct penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct. David Leggio once again had a strong showing, with 29 saves on the night. The Bears push their win streak to six games, and they try to push it to 7 as they once again play the Phantoms tomorrow, this time at Wells Fargo Center. Game time is at 1.
